Five years in a row around 15,000 people leave South Beach with their taste buds tingling of sensation and their stomachs full, waiting in anticipation for next October to come around. With the festival getting bigger and better every year, 2018 promises to be the best yet, as more restaurants join the cause. This four-day seafood festival – with the main event being held on the 20th of October – marks a special date in the calendar, as food lovers from all over the nation flock to Miami for an unforgettable culinary extravaganza. Somewhere around 30 restaurateurs set up shop on the sands of SoBe and showcase their talents by serving mouthwatering dishes to the hungry public.

This time of year also marks the beginning of Florida Stone Crab season so you can expect to drown in tenderly crab meat fresh from the net! When it comes to ticket prices, $45 will get you in with access to the open bar areas where you can sip on complimentary wine and mix your Jack with Coke. We recommend opting for the VIP ticket if you’re a fan of additional perks and don’t like standing in long lines. For a little bit of extra money, you’ll be able to enjoy exclusive access to VIP-only areas and an after-party to remember. On top of that VIP tickets come with $20 worth of food vouchers you can spend sampling dishes at any station.

What kind of food can you expect to find at the South Beach Seafood Festival?

Miami’s South Beach food scene is all about diversity. With all the top eateries displaying their menus at the festival, you can expect to find some well-known specialties, but also try exotic dishes that you never had before. Legendary restaurants like Joe’s Stone Crab will be serving their famous dishes like the seasonal Florida Stone Crab prepared in various ways.

Afterward, you can try their magnificent desert, the Key lime pie. Moving along the main festival area, you’ll able to revel in the heavenly tenderness of Crab Cakes, Shrimp Tacos, Lobster Skewers, and other types of small bites.

Remember to leave room for the main course as there will be plenty to choose from. Oversized portions of Surf ‘N Turf, Shrimp, Avocado and Feta Wraps, Gyros, Lemon Garlic Shrimp Cocktails, and many more will fill your heart and your stomach. For those looking for something lighter and refreshing, shrimp or lobster Ceviche served with tostadas are a must-get. Remember to use your ticket and grab a drink from one of the many beach bars.

All that delicious food is best washed down with a glass of fine wine or a cold beer

If you’re looking to party afterward, you’ll be able to choose from a huge selection of handcrafted cocktails, prepared with chopped fresh fruit and herbs. For those who prefer their drinks simple and “on the rocks”, the Jack Daniel’s Beach Club is the place to be.
